Carolina Theological Seminary is a school committed to sound doctrine and proper Biblical Interpretation. We have a burden to impact the local church and missions by equipping men and women with the precious truths of God’s Word. The study of theology, or the study of God, should be at the forefront of every believer’s efforts in life.
We have, with the help of the Lord, developed programs of study that have a high view of God and His Word, and will begin to develop the student to a life committed to learning about the Scriptures. Whether you are just starting as a new believer or have been saved for many years these courses will surely help you to mature and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
Over a three year period we have been developing courses unique for Carolina Theological Seminary. Our instructors include men like Randy Bane, Daniel Buchanan, Squire Parsons, and Ralph Sexton Jr. just to name a few. You will glean from the years of preaching and teaching experience from lectures you will not hear anywhere else.
Our vision is to build a permanent campus where we not only teach the precious truths of God’s Word but also we have a vision to build individual housing for retired missionaries and pastors. A place, where after a life given to the service of the Lord, they may come and impart their knowledge with the students and live without the burden of houses expenses.
We also hope one day to offer Apologetics camps for high school students and their families. Where they can come and get more grounded in their faith before heading off to college. We also look to offer more programs of study in the years to come, including Deacon’s Certificates, to equip and educate the local church servants, Bachelors of Divinity and Apologetics, and Masters of Biblical Studies, Divinity, and Apologetics.
Statement of Faith
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is the Word of God, which it is without error and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; Acts 20:32)
We believe there is one and only one living and true God, who is triune, existing eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1,26; John 1:1,14; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:5-6; I John 5:7)
We believe that man was created by God in His own image; that man of his own free choosing sinned and as a consequence incurred spiritual, physical, and eternal death; that as a result of man’s original sin all human beings are born sinful, are sinners by choice, under just condemnation, and totally unable to save themselves. (Genesis 1:26; Genesis 3; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:19; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:44,46; II Thessalonians 1:8-9; Job 14:4; Psalms 51:5; Romans 8:5-7; I Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 2:1-3; John 3:3-8)
We believe that salvation is a work of God alone. We believe salvation is on the basis of His grace and not on any human merit. (John 6:44,45; Romans 8:29-30, 9:15-16, 18; Ephesians 1:3-6, 2:8-10; II Timothy 1:9)
We believe that the salvation of sinners is effected through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who took upon Himself human nature, was sinless in birth and life and through His sinless life, substitutionary death, physical resurrection/ascension and perpetual intercession obtained salvation for all whom have saving faith. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1,14; Romans 9:5; I Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:15; II Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 5:17; Romans 10:4; I Corinthians 1:30; I Peter 2:21-24, 3:18; Hebrews 9:28; Romans 5:6-10; I Corinthians 15:1-3; Romans 3:25, 8:34; Hebrews 7:25)
We believe that the person and work of the Holy Spirit is necessary in the application of salvation to sinners. The normal work of the Holy Spirit in the application of salvation to the sinner consists in indwelling, regeneration, new birth, repentance, faith, sanctification, and glorification. (John 14:16-17; I Corinthians 6:19; Romans 8:9; Titus 3:5; John 3:3-8, 16:7-8; Galatians 5:22-26; I Corinthians 12:1-11, 28; John 14:26, 16:13; Romans 8:11,14)
We believe in the local church composed of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ associated together for worship in which the gospel is preached, baptism and the Lord’s Supper are administered, and spiritual discipline is exercised. (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 2:19-22; I Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:2; Hebrews 10:23-25; Acts 2:41-42; I Corinthians 11:23-29; Matthew 18:15-20; I Corinthians 5)
We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God; that we are to seek the extension of the kingdom of God into all the world and in all facets of life; that we should strive to be holy and blameless in life and to live peaceable with all men; that we should seek to grow to full maturity in Christ. (I Corinthians 10:31; Matthew 6:33, 28:18-20; Romans 1:5; Ephesians 1:4, 2:10, 4:11-16; Romans 12:1-2, 18)
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth; the resurrection of the body; the final judgment; and the eternal state of blessing for the redeemed and endless suffering for the wicked. (John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Philippians 3:20-21; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Corinthians 15; John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15; Jude 6; II Thessalonians 1:7-10; Matthew 25:41, 46; Revelation 14:11)
